Find A Puppy School Class

The below locations run regular puppy school classes. Puppies cannot be enrolled after 12 weeks of age so book in early as places are limited.

What does the Vets4Pets Puppy School aim to achieve?

Socialisation

The ages between 6 and 12 weeks are critical in puppy development. Puppies need exposure in a friendly environment to other animals, people and doggy socialisation. Through this stimulation they learn appropriate behaviour and are better to cope with life as adult dogs.

Basic Obedience

In these classes principles of basic puppy training are taught and practised, with an emphasis on fun and family involvement. Basic command will be taught such as;

  • Come when called
  • Sit and drop
  • Walk on a lead without pulling
  • Wait / Stay
  • Accept people near food and toys
  • Socialise with people and other dogs
  • Approach owners and people without jumping

Enjoying Visits to the Vet

Through puppies enjoying their time at these classes we hope to make their future visits to the vet come as an exciting journey and be less traumatic for both dog and owner.

Owner Education

During pre-school classes topics relating to preventative dog health care will be covered as well such as;

  • Understanding normal puppy behaviour.
  • How to read your puppy’s body language and respond.
  • Effective techniques for positive behavioural development.
  • Understand boundaries when playing.
  • Develop strong bonds between you and your puppy.
