The Dernancourt Veterinary Team

Dr Virginia Hart - Managing Veterinarian

Dr Hart joined Vets4Pets in 1986. She has played a pivotal role in the establishment and performance of the medical and surgical team at the Golden Grove Veterinary Hospital.

Dr Hart has studied extensively and attained many qualifications, including a Masters degree in veterinary science. She loves and cares for all animals but has a special place in her heart for felines.

When she's not at work Virginia is happily devoted to her four boys and numerous cats and dogs. In her rare private moments, she may be found enjoying test cricket at the Adelaide Oval.

Dr Alicia Cheong B.V.S.c

Alicia was born and raised in Adelaide, and moved to New South Wales to study Veterinary Science at the University of Sydney. After graduating, Alicia worked in a hospital in the Inner Western suburbs of Sydney, where she developed skills in small animal medicine and surgery. When outside of the clinic, she enjoys baking, snow boarding, SCUBA diving, and spending time with her bunny, Pickles.

Dr Marijke Mellor B.Vet.Biol/B.Vet.Sci (Hons)

Dr Marijke Mellor attended high school in Adelaide before moving interstate for university. She graduated from Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga, NSW, in 2013 then returned to Adelaide to work at a small animal and exotic pet clinic. Since graduation she has focused on veterinary medicine of exotic pets, including small mammals, birds, reptiles, and fish as well as Australia's wonderful wildlife. She worked with Vets4Pets in 2015 and 2016 before leaving to spend 2 years undertaking further training by working under highly experienced veterinarians in a clinic which only sees bird and exotic pets. She returned to Vets4Pets in 2019 to provide special care for all your feathered, furred, or scaled family members. Outside of work she likes spending time with her family (human and animal) and classical music

Virginia and her team of veterinarians, nurses and support staff are dedicated to providing exceptional service and veterinary medicine to families and their pets. The vets in Dernancourt also cater to clients in surrounding areas.

Vets4Pets understand you love your pet, so a senior vet of your choice will organise the management and treatment of your animal companion for as long as you remain our client.
